The Arizona Carryover Assist Tool aides populating the Available Credit Carryover tables in Forms 310, 321, 322, 323, 348, and 352 for the current year.

The are three sections to the tool -- Form 301 For Previous Year, Carryover For Previous Year, and Available Carryover For Current Year.
To view the Available Carryover table for a Form 310 through 352, select the respective checkbox.
The user will gather the previous year information from Form 301 and Available Credit Carryover tables in Forms 310, 321, 322, 323, 348, and 352 and store it into the Form 301 For Previous Year and Available Carryover For Previous Year sections.

Instructions

1. If the previous year Arizona return isn't available, the nonrefundable credit carryover cannot be determined.
2. If there is no Form 301 in the previous year Arizona return, there isn't any nonrefundable credit carryover.
3. In the previous year Form 301, compare line 30 (Total available nonrefundable tax credits) with line 76 (Total Tax Credits Used).
   If line 30 is less than line 76, there is no nonrefundable carryover.
   Otherwise, proceed to the next step.
4. Assure the "Available Carryover for Current Year" is correct.
5. In the following steps, information will be gathered from the previous year Arizona tax return and stored in the appropriate field of the tool.
   1. From Form 301 in the previous year return, copy the values in lines 6 through 31, Current Year Credit (column "a") and store in the Form 301 For Previous Year section entries for Form 309 through 352 fields, respectively.
   2. From Form 301 in the previous year return, copy the value in line 39 and store in the Form 301 For Previous Year section entry for the Tab Liability for Tax Credits.
   3. For each Form 310 through 352 that exists in the previous year return:
      From Available Credit Carryover--
      1. Click checkbox to view of slected Form (Available Carryover) table
      2. Copy the values in the Original Credit Amount (column "b") and store in the Available Carryover For Previous Year section entries for Original Credit Amount.
      3. Copy the values in the Amount Previously Used (column "c") and store in the Available Carryover For Previous Year section entries for Amount Previously Used.
6. When complete, click the Calculate Carryover button.
   If there is any carryover, the forms (310 through 352) with carryover will be displayed.
7. The results are in Available Carryover For Current Year. Copy this information to the appropriate Forms 310 through 352 for the Current Tax in TaxSlayer.

Training Aides

An additional section can be viewed by clicking the Display/Hide Training Data button. There are two tables that show the effect of applying Available Credits to a Tax Liability elligible for credits. All entries are relative to the previous tax year.

Remaining Tax Liability

This shows the reamining tax after credit for a specific form and year was applied.

Recaptured Credits

This shows the amount of recaptured credit used for a specific form and year.
